Values |
|
Values Be brave, then run People cause suffering Drawing values is sometimes really hard. Like Honesty and courage. Our ValuesWe all have values, things we believe are important to us. Family, friends, trust, honesty. We all break our valuesWe all steal, lie, cheat, hurt people we care about The world of sufferingSuffering is mostly cause by me, when I put myself before others, ahead of my stated values. Self is the core value that when threatened I follow more than honesty, trust etc. A change of heart We all lie We don’t need more rules we need a change of heart. Where I value people more than what suits me. Then we have a change of living a world with less suffering. |

2 anti Religion |

Scares and Happy places Happy Place Yummmnn Scaring Moment Today we shared where our happy place would be and a scar we have. We spend ages listening to each others stories. We had bicycle crashed, running into coffee tables, falling off skate boards, operations, dog scratches etc. Happy places included; the beach, friends and family, riding motorbike, eating chocolate, singing with a rock band, playing the guitar (acoustic). Religion? The question was asked: Should everyone follow a religion? Students didn’t like the idea that people be forced to have a religion. However some shared that they believed in God. The difference is that religion requires you to do stuff to qualify for good stuff. Like heavenly fly buys, go to church, pray, be nice and get points. When you are bad you get points deducted. When you die you hope to have enough heavenly fly buys to go to heaven Reject religion Happly Place Christ died for me the Rev hates religion. Jesus had most of his arguments with religious people. It was the religious people organised Christ’s crucifixion. FaithFaith is trusting in someone or something. I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross to win my salvation. He earned all the heavenly fly buys for me and paid for all the negative points I earned. I go to heaven not because I’m good but because Christ was good for me and I have faith in his ability to save me. |

1 Spiritual Connections |
|
Hey Ouch! the Rev's Hero Crystal Emma Rochelle,Torin is cool, Mischa, Kayla Contact with spiritualityNearly all of us have had some contact with spirituality whether that be through Religious Education, attending church services, youth groups or coming into contact with people who held to a particular religion; like Islam HobbiesThen I asked students what they enjoy most. Hanging out with friends and family, base ball; both playing and watching, watching movies; both comic and horror, playing the guitar, playing Call of duty 4 at a competitive level, gymnastics and walking dog : ( ConnectionThere is a very close connection between what we really enjoy and religion. A religion is a belief that is meant to make your life better. People treat their sport, music, recreation in pretty much the same way a person treats their religion. It makes them feel better, in control, gives them a sense of control, success acceptance. God? Even Wizards play Love friends and family A couple of students shared they believed in God, at least in some form. My encouragment is that all students explore what they believe, why they believe and how their belief affects their life for good or bad. |
