God is …

Big

By big we mean God can do anything. His power is not limited. Being powerful God made the universe and this world. Having made the world God also holds the world together. Have a look at Ps 104 and Colossians 1:15-17.

 Author

God wrote a letter in which he explains everything we need to know about Him, ourselves, the world and eternity. Because God is big he was able to write this letter without any real difficulty and with without error. This letter we call the Bible.

The Question

In Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy the answer to life, the universe and everything is 42. The problem is that while they knew the answer, they didn’t know the question! Before every answer there must be a question. God helps us know what the question is before he helps us with the answer. The ultimate and simplest question found on the lips of child and adult is the same. Why am I here? Why me? And why this elaborate universe?

The Answer

And just as most adults like to answer the why question posed by their children with a simple answer, so God gives us a deceptively simple answer to our question, because... Why the universe? Because God wanted one. Why me? Well because God wanted you. God made the world because he wanted to. Because. God made the world and people in it with a purpose in mind. He made us in such a way that we might know Him, love Him, worship Him, depend on Him and obey Him.
