07 Admit Guilt E-mail

Romans 3:9-20

Burden Lifting

Sometimes we carry burdens of guilt, shame, anger, unforgiveness without ever realising it. We get so used to the weight, so used to the pain and inconvenience that it feels normal. Spiritually we all carry the scar that comes from running away from God. We may deny it, we may ignore it, we may try and compensate for it by trying to be good. But true freedom only comes from admitting our guilt both to God and ourselves. This is the first step of humility towards forgiveness, reconciliation and freedom with God. the Rev

Prayer: Dear God, Thank you for loving me so deeply that you tell me about my true condition outside of Christ, that I am guilty before you. Forgive me for avoiding you, for arguing with you, for living my own way. Thank you that I don’t have to perform to gain or keep your love because you sought me while I was running away from you. Open my understanding of you so that I can see you much more clearly than I do now. Amen
