Leviticus 16:20-22, Matt 27:15-31 and Romans 3:22b-26 God is not fair (Good Friday)
When we say “It’s not fair!” what do we mean. We are usually upset that something bad happened to us, we got unjustly blamed or punished. We had to clean something up when we didn’t make the mess. When we say “It’s not fair!” who are we talking about? Life is not Fair, or circumstances are not fair? Let me suggest that when we say “It’s not fair!” we are actually saying “God is not fair!” for letting something bad or unjust happen to us. Well God isn’t fair because he takes the blame for our short coming, he takes our punishment on himself and he cleans up the mess we make. There is one word that captures all of God’s unfairness, it is the word “Grace”. the Rev  Grace is never fair |
