Romans 6:15-23 Good Anxiety
What kind of driver drives this car? Typically we think in terms of laughing equals good and anxiety equals bad. Life is not so simplistic. Anxeity is not bad in and of itself. What is worse is what makes you anxious. It is what you want, what you desire which wakes you up in the night, which makes you think about something over and over again. True freedom comes not from being anxious but from wanting something right and good. Christ came to help us understand what is worth wanting. Find out how to change what you worry about. the Rev
Romans 6:19 Switch Masters
ExercisesWhy does Paul speak in human terms? Share something of your weakness v19a. Discus and give a specific example of what Paul describes as “just as… so now” v19. How might you change what you want and therefore what/who you serve v19? What do you think God would have you change in your life for holiness v19?
Prayer: Heavenly Father give me eyes to see you clearly so that I would long for you; to serve and to please you rather than myself. Forgive me for my slavering to sin. Set me free so that I can serve righteousness which leads to holiness. Let me grow in my love for people, especially those I find difficult, annoying and painful. Make me as Christ to my family, friends and people in my community. Amen |
