Today we explore how my dog's temptation to chase Bush Turkeys how cowboys having gunfights helps us understand how we can be better slaves of God. In summary it is about training our hearts so that we don't do whatever it says, like my dog running after bush turkeys. True freedom comes from being God's slave rather than being the slave of our selfish desire. This message explores how this can work in your life. the Rev

  • Discuss the ‘before and after’ contrast found in v20-21.

  • Share specifically a ‘before and after’ example from your own life v20-21.  

  • How might you promote less ‘before’ and more ‘after’ in your life v20-21? 

  • What is striking about the contrast in v23 and how might that encourage you?

Prayer: Heavenly Father forgive me for so often working to save my life which in reality only distances myself from you and people. Give me a change of heart so that I can connect with you and people by learning to set heart goals for each day; like showing people kindness particularly when they don’t deserve it. Use me as light and salt in peoples lives, that I might bless both you and my neighbour.  Amen
